Carleen Rhodes

President and CEO

Carleen Rhodes
“I love working at Minnesota Philanthropy Partners because we have breadth of reach and impact across issues and across Minnesota. Working with many other partners, we touch the broad array of issues that make communities strong.”

In her role as president and CEO, Carleen acts as the top steward of MN Partners’ human and financial resources. Carleen helps MN Partners achieve maximum impact by building, supporting and strengthening our team of topnotch professionals. Her leadership in strategic planning ensures that our work addresses the most critical needs in the communities we serve.

A long career in the nonprofit sector prepared Carleen for this role. Prior to joining our staff in 2003, Carleen served as president of the Minnesota Children’s Museum. She previously was a partner in the national consulting firm of Bentz Whaley Flessner providing strategic and capital campaign counsel to universities, health care and cultural institutions across the country. Before that, she held fundraising positions at the College of Saint Benedict, Minnesota Private College Fund and the American Heart Association. A prolific reader, Carleen holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English literature from St. Cloud State University. She is also a Certified Fund Raising Executive.

Carleen serves on the boards of directors of Commonbond Communities, Generation Next (formerly known as Twin Cities Strive) and the Montessori Center of Minnesota, chairs the University of Minnesota Buckman Fellowship Board and co-chairs Heading Home Minnesota. She is a member of the New Century Club.

In addition to working to improve her local and state communities, Carleen enjoys cooking, and she stays active working out and traveling. She also loves spending time with her granddaughters, Addison and Camryn.
