Tom owns Metropolitan Corp and five local automobile dealerships. 

Having run his own business for 40 years, Tom brings a wealth of practical experience to his board memberships and other volunteer activities. In addition to Minnesota Philanthropy Partners, he now serves as a board member for the Friends of the Hennepin County Library and Planned Parenthood. Over the years, Tom has lent his sales and management expertise to a variety of community causes. He served as general chairman for the Minneapolis Jewish Federation’s annual campaign and was a board member for  the Methodist Hospital Foundation and Fraser School.

Tom lives in Wayzata with his wife Patricia. They have two children, Charles and Elizabeth, as well as two grandchildren.
